Beautifully bespoke, made just for you 🌸
Every wedding is different, and your flowers should be too.
At The Bloomery @33, all of our artificial wedding flowers are individually designed and handmade around your colours, style and ideas. Whether you're looking for just a bridal bouquet and a few buttonholes or flowers for your whole wedding party and venue, we'll work with you to create something that feels right for your day — without the price tag that can come with fresh wedding flowers.
Here's everything you need to know about booking your flowers with us.
Securing Your Date
A £20 booking fee secures your wedding date with The Bloomery @33.
This is deducted from the total cost of your flowers, with your remaining balance due 8 weeks before your wedding.
The £20 booking fee is non-refundable if you decide to cancel.
Booking within 8 weeks of your wedding? That's absolutely fine if we have availability, but payment will normally be required in full when you book.
Not Quite Ready to Book? Try a Sample Bouquet 🌷
If you'd like to see our flowers and workmanship for yourself before committing to your wedding flowers, you can order a Sample Bouquet for £20, including standard postage.
Your sample will be approximately the size of a small bridesmaid bouquet and created around your chosen colours and style.
And if you love it and decide to book us for your wedding, the £20 you've already paid becomes your booking fee — so there's no additional £20 to pay.
The sample is yours to keep, of course!
Designing Your Wedding Flowers
This is the fun bit!
Once you're booked, we'll start building a picture of what you'd like. We'll chat about things such as:
- your wedding colours
- flowers and foliage you love
- the overall style you're going for
- bouquet sizes and shapes
- your wedding party
- venue flowers and décor
- any flowers, colours or styles you definitely want
And please, show me your Pinterest inspiration board, photos, screenshots, colour swatches, bridesmaid dresses and random pictures you've saved because you love the colours are all welcome.
They're there to give us inspiration rather than something we have to copy exactly.
Bespoke Means Bespoke
Your flowers won't be taken off a shelf or copied exactly from somebody else's wedding.
We'll agree the main elements of your designs with you — including your colour palette, overall style, approximate size and any flowers or features that are particularly important to you.
From there, we'll use a little creative freedom when putting everything together. The exact position of individual flowers and foliage may change as we build the arrangement so that the finished piece looks balanced and beautiful.
Artificial flower availability can also change, so occasionally we may need to substitute a particular stem for a suitable alternative. If we need to do this, we'll stay as close as reasonably possible to the style and colours we've agreed with you.
We'll Keep You Involved 📸
You won't simply tell us what you want and then hear nothing until a box turns up!
We'll keep you updated with photos and/or videos as your flowers come together, and you're welcome to suggest reasonable changes along the way.
For smaller orders, such as a couple of bouquets and buttonholes, final approval may happen quite close to completion.
Larger orders and venue décor need considerably more planning, so we'll need decisions and approvals earlier.
Once we've agreed the basics, we'll have creative discretion over the finer details of the finished design — but we'll always be working towards the look we've agreed together.
If you request a substantial change that means purchasing additional materials, replacing materials already bought or significantly reworking an agreed design, there may be an additional charge. We'll always discuss this with you before doing anything that costs extra.
Making Changes to Your Order
Wedding plans change. Someone gets added to the wedding party, somebody decides they don't want a buttonhole after all... we get it!
For personal flowers such as bouquets, bridesmaid flowers, buttonholes and corsages, you can normally add, remove or change items up to 4 weeks before your wedding, subject to availability.
For larger venue arrangements and décor, changes need to be agreed at least 8 weeks before your wedding.
If you remove something before you've paid your final balance, we'll simply adjust the balance accordingly.
Once the final balance has been paid and we've committed materials and work to your order, removing items won't automatically result in a refund.
A Little Note About Colours 🎨
We'll always do our best to work closely with your chosen colour palette, but exact colour matching isn't possible.
Colours can look surprisingly different from one phone or computer screen to another, and artificial flowers and ribbons aren't available in every imaginable shade.
So if you send us a photograph of the perfect dusty blue, sage green or blush pink, we'll use it as our guide rather than promising an exact colour match.
If the closest flower available is significantly different from what we've discussed, we'll talk to you about it rather than just going rogue with your wedding colours. 😆
When Will My Flowers Be Ready?
We aim to have personal flowers finished and safely with you well before your wedding, usually around two weeks beforehand.
Sometimes they'll be ready earlier — particularly because of the size of an order, our workload or planned holidays. If we're planning to have yours ready earlier than usual, we'll let you know.
The beauty of artificial flowers is that there's no need to leave everything until the last minute. We'd much rather have your bouquet sitting safely with you several weeks early than have everybody watching a courier tracking screen three days before the wedding!
Large venue arrangements that we're installing ourselves will normally be delivered and set up on the wedding day, or the day before where this has been agreed with you and your venue.
Postage, Collection & Local Delivery 📦
Wedding flower orders can be sent by courier, with postage and packing charged separately.
Please make sure you give us the correct delivery address and that somebody is available to receive your parcel where required. If your courier sends the parcel to a collection point or locker, it will need to be collected within their specified timeframe.
If a parcel is returned to us because it wasn't received or collected, you'll need to pay the postage and packing cost for us to send it again.
If that delay means the flowers don't reach you in time for your wedding, we're unfortunately unable to provide a refund where the delay was caused by failure to receive or collect the parcel.
Prefer not to have them posted?
We offer free local delivery within approximately 10 miles, you can collect from us, or we can arrange a convenient meeting point within roughly the same distance.
What If My Flowers Arrive Squashed?
Don't panic!
Artificial flowers can sometimes become a little compressed or move around during their journey. Usually they simply need a little gentle reshaping and fluffing back into place.
If something looks genuinely damaged, though, please contact us as soon as you can.
We'll ask you to send photographs of the flowers, the packaging inside the box and the outside of the parcel so we can see what's happened and, where necessary, deal with the courier.
We'll then work out the most appropriate solution, which could be some simple reshaping advice, a repair, returning something to us for adjustment, replacement or a refund where appropriate.
Looking After Your Flowers
Once you've received them, keep your flowers somewhere clean and dry, away from excessive heat, moisture and prolonged direct sunlight.
Try to keep them somewhere they won't be squashed, knocked over, investigated by an enthusiastic pet or used as a sword by a small wedding guest. 😂
Look after them and one of the lovely things about artificial wedding flowers is that you can keep them long after the wedding itself.
Adding Something Personal 🤍
If you'd like us to incorporate something meaningful into your flowers — perhaps a memorial charm, photograph, special ribbon, brooch or keepsake — just ask.
We'll take reasonable care of anything entrusted to us, but please tell us if something is particularly valuable, fragile or irreplaceable.
We may occasionally advise against using an item if we don't believe it can be safely or securely incorporated into the design.
Venue Flowers & Larger Arrangements
The Bloomery @33 isn't just about bouquets and buttonholes.
We can also create artificial floral arrangements for ceremony spaces, aisles, welcome areas, top or sweetheart tables, cake displays, signage, arches, backdrops and other areas around your venue.
Depending on the arrangement, larger pieces may be available to purchase or hire.
We'll discuss what's practical for your venue and wedding individually.
Venue Delivery & Setup
Venue delivery and setup is free within 10 miles of The Bloomery @33.
For venues further away, where we're able to provide the service, we normally charge £1 per mile for every mile beyond the first 10 miles, for each journey required.
For example, if your venue is 18 miles away, only the additional 8 miles of each journey are chargeable.
This is particularly important with hired arrangements because we may need to make a separate journey after your wedding to collect them.
Longer-distance setup is offered at our discretion, and we'll confirm any delivery, setup and collection costs with you before you book.
Moving Venue Flowers During Your Wedding
Smaller freestanding arrangements can usually be carefully moved and reused during the day. In fact, repurposing your flowers can be a brilliant way of getting more from them.
For example, ceremony flowers might later be moved to your sweetheart table or another reception area.
Larger installations, such as freestanding floral arches, should only be moved where we've agreed this with you beforehand.
Flowers temporarily attached to something belonging to the venue — such as a gazebo, doorway or other fixture — mustn't be removed or repositioned without our agreement.
We'll also decide on a suitable method of safely attaching our arrangements while taking your venue's requirements into account.
Hired Floral Arrangements
If you're hiring floral arrangements or décor from us rather than purchasing them, a refundable damages deposit may be required.
There isn't a one-size-fits-all amount because a couple of small arrangements are very different from hiring a full floral arch and several large displays.
We'll confirm the deposit for your particular booking before your final payment is due.
You're responsible for hired arrangements during the agreed hire period, including loss or damage caused by guests, the venue or other suppliers.
We're not worried about normal little bits of movement or reasonable wear — we're talking about genuine damage, missing items or something requiring repair or replacement.
Collection arrangements will be agreed with you and/or your venue beforehand.
Outdoor Flowers & The Great British Weather ☔
Yes, artificial floral arrangements can be used outdoors — but unfortunately even artificial flowers can't negotiate with British weather!
Outdoor installations are therefore weather-dependent.
If wind, rain or other conditions make the planned installation unsafe or put the arrangement at significant risk of damage, we may need to alter it, move it somewhere more sheltered or decide that a particular setup can't safely go ahead.
Wherever possible, we'll work with you and your venue to find a sensible alternative.
If You Need to Cancel
We understand that sometimes plans change.
Your £20 booking fee is non-refundable if you decide to cancel.
If you've already paid your final balance and cancel more than 4 weeks before your wedding, our usual refund is 50% of the amount you've paid above the £20 booking fee.
If you cancel within 4 weeks of your wedding, a cancellation refund will not normally be available because your bespoke flowers are likely to be substantially underway or completed and we've committed materials and working time specifically to your order.
Please see our full Refund & Cancellation Policy for the complete terms, the link is at the bottom of the page.
And If Something Goes Wrong at Our End?
It's extremely unlikely, but we think it's important that you know what happens.
If illness, an emergency, supplier issue or another unforeseen circumstance affects your order, we'll first try to find a sensible solution — for example, an alternative flower or material, adapting part of the design or changing arrangements for delivery/setup.
If we genuinely can't provide part of your order, we'll refund the appropriate amount for that part.
If we have to cancel and can't fulfil your entire order, we'll refund everything you've paid us, including your £20 booking fee.
